Gingerbread Coffin?!

My fae sister, Dyisi Oppewall, and I are happy to present to you our first collaboration, the "Gingerbread Coffin" set. All gingerbread, candy canes and icing, this darling little dress with striped stockings and matching coffin add a slightly macabre twist to an otherwise sweet and cheerful winter.

We had the idea for this set based on the song "Gingerbread Coffin" by Rasputina, a band we have both always loved. It being a rather creepy song about the dark imaginations of young girls, we were surprised at how "sugar, spice and everything nice" the finished set turned out! It's adorable.

The sweetest dreams were made for these doll-like dresses. Katrina pointed out that these colors will go perfectly for the end of the summer and blending into autumn! A happy accident.

Velveteen Ribbons

I've always adored Gothic & Lolita (EGL) fashion with its Victorian and Rococo influences and dolly-dress shapes, so after considering it for a long time I finally felt my skill was up to par enough to branch out into the genre. Velveteen Ribbons took some time to make, getting the textures perfect, matching the skirt seams to the bodice, making sure it moves well, etc, and I'm so happy with the result and really think I accomplished what I was going for.

Prims include the puffed sleeves, sleeve cuffs with flexi bows, the lace-trimmed peter-pan collar, the flexi bow in the back, and lace & ribbon tops for the socks. One of my favorite creations yet, just 550L. :)
